U.S. Smokescreen Is To Prepare Justifications To Attack Iran

Condoleezza Rice, in appearing to offer an opening for negotiations with Iran, said the same thing at her May 31 press conference. “The Iranian government's choices are clear,” she said. And if it makes the wrong choice, “it will incur only great costs.” Thus does the Bush Administration put the onus on those it intends to attack.

... It is a very big pill...too big a pill... to swallow...that a criminal conspiracy controls the world's most powerful nation and could initiate a nuclear war anytime. According to a recent Zogby poll, less than half of all Americans agree that "the 9/11 attacks were thoroughly investigated and that any speculation about U.S. government involvement is nonsense."
You could almost hear a wail of frustration rising up from the gatekeepers of acceptable discourse.
Just after the Zogby poll was released, William Arkin, the Washington Post's normally circumspect military affairs columnist, had a fit of apoplexy over some e-mail from 9/11 skeptics. "National security is men's work," he wrote -- absurdly bringing gender politics into a debate that's already quite muddled -- and conspiracy theorists are, presumably, not real men, but "predatory and devious, seekers of polarization and not light, abusive of the political system [and] contemptuous of anything that even resembles the 'truth.'"

Famous independent journalists tell us how our mass media make wars possible.
John Pilger said: "journalists have played a critical role in sustaining wars. Starting them and sustaining them" and that "there's almost an obsession, on controlling what journalists have to say...what we're getting is a massive censorship by omission"...The war in Vietnam .."was an invasion...huge numbers of civilians were killed. And in effect it was a war against civilians and that was never told and that's exactly true of Iraq."

Normalizing the Unthinkable

Dahr Jamail shows that the U.S. Marines slaughter in Haditha is part of the systematic U.S. direct and indirect slaughter of up to 250,000 civilian men, women and children all over Iraq. As with the tortures at Abu Ghraib, there will be a few low-ranking soldiers convicted and people will be conditioned to think the culprits have been punished.
But the architects of this war, and many similar but unreported Hadithas, and wars to follow, will escape scot-free. Bush & Co by their barbaric tortures and slaughter are creating a seed-bed and training ground for terrorism where none existed before.
All 'Coalition of the Willing' allies, including Tony Blair and John Howard, are tarred with this brush.
The effects and consequences of their foul deeds will seep into their own societies.

Countless My Lai Massacres in Iraq

"On Saturday, May 13th, 2006, at 10:00 p.m., US Forces accompanied by the Iraqi National Guard attacked the houses of Iraqi people in the Al-Latifya district south of Baghdad by an intensive helicopter shelling. This led the families to flee to the Al-Mazar and water canals to protect themselves from the fierce shelling. Then seven helicopters landed to pursue the families who fled … and killed them.   The number of victims amounted to more than 25 martyrs. George Orwell, Novelist or Prophet?

GEORGE Orwell wrote his book, 1984, in the 1940's. The year, 1984, was a long way off then, but what he foresaw as a possibility seemed much closer. We approached it during the McCarthy years in the fifties, but sanity reasserted itself.
When Nixon came to power, it looked like Orwell's fears might come to pass, but Nixon and his cronies overreached themselves and we were saved again. Reagan and Bush I came fairly close also. They refined a lot of the techniques, but the time was not right. It is beginning to look like the Regime of Bush II might turn Orwell from a novelist into a prophet.

The terrible cost in murdered, tortured, raped, imprisoned and wounded children in Iraq adds to the  multiplying war crimes of Bush, Blair and Howard in their illegal and deceitful invasion, continuing slaughter and occupation of Iraq.  And the war criminals are so terribly proud of the murderous mayhem they have created for no legitimate reason. Endlessly they pat each other on the back for the great job they are doing in bringing 'democracy and freedom' to the poor oppressed Iraqis, while they joyfully slaughter the innocents.

Easily Dispensable: Iraq's Children

If, as I would like to believe, the above quote suggests all children and not merely those born in Western democracies, I am no longer certain that we live in a civilized society.
That women and children suffer the most during times of war is not a new phenomenon. It is a reality as old as war itself. What Rumsfeld, Rice and other war criminals of the Cheney administration prefer to call "collateral damage" translates in English as the inexcusable murder of and other irreparable harm done to women, children and the elderly during any military offensive.

Professor Andrew Bacevich, graduate of WestPoint and the Vietnam war is Director of the Center for International Relations at Boston University. He shows how America has spread it's control around the world with "hundred and hundreds of military bases, large and small" and that today "...planning, preparing, and waging war has become the normal state and seemingly permanent condition of the United States" 
America needs enemies to feed its "military/industrial complex" which has become a threat to the continuation of the United States as Americans know and love it. President Dwight Eisenhower warned Americans about this as he left  office in 1960.

We are now in an America where it's a commonplace for our President, wearing a "jacket with ARMY printed over his heart and 'Commander in Chief' printed on his right front," to address vast assemblages of American troops on the virtues of bringing democracy to foreign lands at the point of a missile. As Jim VandeHei of the Washington Post puts it: "Increasingly, the president uses speeches to troops to praise American ideals and send a signal to other nations the administration is targeting for democratic change."

"Bush has been taken over... by a saviour complex..."the person playing the archetypal role of saviour will reflect this unconsciousness and become inflated, blown up out of all proportion by the power of the archetype. He will then, of necessity, be compelled to act out his hubris in a way that is destructive for all who are under his dominion."

George W. Bush is suffering from a peculiar but not that uncommon form of madness in which a pathological part of his psyche has co-opted all of the healthy parts into its service.
Speaking about such a pathological condition, Jung commented that “…an unknown ‘something' has taken possession of a smaller or greater portion of the psyche and asserts its hateful and harmful existence undeterred by all our insight, reason, and energy, thereby proclaiming the power of the unconscious over the conscious mind, the sovereign power of possession.”
Bush has been taken over by an unconscious complex of the collective unconscious. We speak of a mother complex, or a father complex, but Bush has what we could call a savior complex. Jung said, “The savior complex is an archetypal image of the collective unconscious, and it quite naturally becomes activated in an epoch so full of trouble and disorientation as ours.” The archetypal figure of savior is literally dreamed up into incarnation by the field to be both a compensation for and an expression of the disorientation and dissociation in the field.

The latest information I have had from the followers of der Bush is that he has demanded and received permission to use nuclear "bunker busters" in Iran in a preemptive strike. As a nuclear veteran (Operation Redwing, Bikini, 1956) I can affirm that this is absolute madness. The "bunker buster" is a cute sounding name for a nuclear horror. Air bursts are horrible enough, doing incredible destruction through heat, shock and high initial radiation. The fallout from an air burst is registered around the world. A surface or subsurface burst is even deadlier and more long lasting.

The so-called "war on terrorism" is actually a war on the Iraq people and the destruction of their country. From the beginning of the war in 2003. the U.S. reasons to justify this war were known to be lies. There were no WMD, no nuclear weapons programme, no links to al-Qaeda and Osama bin laden, and  no Iraq plans to attack the U.S. or U.K. From the beginning, the war was the most colossal fraud any American administration has every foisted on their own people. After destroying most of the Iraqi infrastructure, the Bush Administration made a big show about rebuilding Iraq and restoring all facilities including, electricity, sewage, bridges, hospitals, water etc. Many billions of dollars from the U.S. Treasury were made available for this work. In fact it was never effectively done. Most of the money was siphoned off by corruption, no-bid, cost-plus contracts, shoddy and incomplete work and so on.

After five months of confusion, bickering, dickering, dithering, and strong-arm tactics from Zalmay Khalilzad, our ambassador to Iraq and various high American officials arriving on the fly, Prime Minister-designate Nouri al-Maliki has reportedly chosen his cabinet and a government will evidently be established in Baghdad's Green Zone. At the moment, its reach seems unlikely to extend much beyond the American-protected berms and fortifications of that citadel-mini-state. In the meantime, what governmental authority still existed in Iraq seems to be rapidly on the wane -- and not just in largely Sunni areas of the country either. (In parts of Sunni al-Anbar province, however, according to Mathieu Guidère and Peter Harling of Le Monde Diplomatique, control seems to be passing into other "governing" hands: "A formal procedure is in place for lorry drivers to pay an insurance fee [to insurgent groups] that allows them to cross the governorate, as long as they are not supplying the enemy.")

Whatever U.S. Senators do, or don't do, can effect you. For example if the U.S. Senate wishes to stop a war on Iran, or withdraw troops from Iraq, or endorse or reject the president's choice for head of the CIA, it can effect whether the U.S. continues to torture it's imprisoned suspects. U.S. Senators have considerable power if they wish to use it to stop wars, deny or approve funding for the military.

There is a chance for the Central Intelligence Agency to clear its name - to signal a new era by stating clearly that the CIA does not and will not engage in torture.

1,800 physicists have warned that we face human extinction if Bush's continues with his new nuclear doctrines, and proceeds with his strategy to use nuclear weapons against Iran or in other conflict. Many other well-informed experts have warned humanity with the same message. There are many reasons that nuclear weapons use would trigger rapid escalation to global nuclear war, and destruction of all life.

"It is gravely irresponsible for the U.S. as the greatest superpower to consider courses of action that could eventually lead to the widespread destruction of life on the planet. We urge the administration to announce publicly that it is taking the nuclear option off the table in the case of all non-nuclear adversaries, present or future, and we urge the American people to make their voices heard on this matter."

The mental hospitals have many patients who believe they are in direct contact with God - that God is telling them things and instructing them to take certain actions. When they act out these heavenly delusions and take the action that they think God has instructed them to take, often it involves violence against others. The law then sees these people as a danger to themselves, family and community and has them placed in a hospital for treatment.
When a world leader like George Bush has such delusions, that involve attacking other states without any provocation or excuse, the world is seriously threatened. When the leaders' delusion is physically expressed as invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq and perhaps Iran to come, the delusions are widely believed to be based on facts, and therefore justified.

LONDON (AFP) - US President George W. Bush allegedly said God told him to invade Iraq and Afghanistan , a new BBC documentary will reveal, according to details released here.
Bush made the claim when he met Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas and then foreign minister Nabil Shaath in June 2003, the ministers told the documentary series to be broadcast in Britain later this month.
The US leader also told them he had been ordered by God to create a Palestinian state, the ministers said Friday.
Shaath, now the Palestinian information minister, said: " President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God.

.... The Neocons want chaos and are promoting civil war in Iraq because they intend to occupy their new permanent military bases there for the foreseeable future.....

On the brighter side, there are limits to the U.S. military's loyalty to Mr. Bush, and high-ranking American military officers have stated that they are adamantly opposed to the use of bunker-buster tactical nuclear weapons (i.e., so-called "mini-nukes"). Moreover, British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw has publicly stated that the idea of a nuclear strike against Iran is "completely nuts."

Dahr Jamail's article is real news about the American genocide in Iraq. It may shock and horrify you. You may wonder what Bush and his neocons hope to achieve by their systematic, murder, torture, and imprisonments of  innocent Iraqis. This horrifying mass murder is sold by Bush's, Tony Blair's and John Howard's propaganda machines, including the mass media in the U.S., U.K. and Australia as "bringing democracy to the middle east" and that the only opponents are "terrorists etc" The media will never mention the horrific reality revealed by this fearless, on-the-spot reporter.

Here is another good comment on Dahr Jamail's article and the expected U.S. war on Iran. He raises the question as to why the Europeans seem to be playing Bush's game and why IAEA's El Baradei is not warning about Bush's intentions to use nuclear weapons. The international community seems to be fiddling and game playing while Bush is planning a major war, even nuclear war. Why?

"It is only when more people in the US begin to fathom the totality of the destruction in Iraq," writes Dahr Jamail, "that one may expect to hear the public outcry and uprising necessary to end the occupation and bring to justice the war criminals responsible for these conditions. Until that happens, make no mistake: all of us participate in a new Iraq, our hands dyed in the blood of innocents."

One of the many reasons Bush may decide to wage pre-emptive war against Iran is it's new oil trading centre as the following article shows. Iran's Oil Bourse could take a lot of business away from the U.S. and threaten it's economy.
Also, Bush is building a new Empire according to his neocon advisors plan. Iran and it's oil are to be part of it.

As America's naval armadas continue to surf the Persian Gulf, hovering just off the Iranian waters, the supreme commander of the US armed forces recently said that threats from Mr Ahmadinejad, particularly towards Israel, had to be "dealt with". He told Germany's Bild am Sonntag newspaper that if Mr Ahmadinejad was ready to destroy one country (Israel), "then he would also be ready to destroy others". President Bush added: "This is a threat that needs to be dealt with."

The President of Iran has reached out to President Bush offering a dialogue of peace instead of preparations for war. My hope is that President Bush will choose to talk, and pull back from starting an escalating war with Iran that could suddenly become nuclear and end the human race. Why on earth would he do that?

For sometime now I have been thinking, how one can justify the undeniable contradictions that exist in the international arena -- which are being constantly debated, specially in political forums and amongst university students. Many questions remain unanswered. These have prompted me to discuss some of the contradictions and questions, in the hopes that it might bring about an opportunity to redress them.

Scott Ritter gives a detailed account of U.S. preparations and plans to strike at Iran before June/05. Obviously this has been postponed for unknown reasons. As Iran will retaliate against U.S. attack, the situation could very easily escalate and involve China and Russia. A sudden global nuclear exchange could result. It's so obvious, why is Europe so compliant and people so passive and silent in the face of global nuclear disaster which would kill and maim billions?

NEW YORK -- Tens of thousands of protesters marched Saturday through lower Manhattan to demand an immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, just hours after this month's GI death toll reached 70.
Cindy Sheehan, a vociferous critic of the war whose soldier son died in Iraq, joined in the march, as did actress Susan Sarandon and the Rev. Jesse Jackson.
''End this war, bring the troops home,'' read one sign lifted by marchers on the sunny afternoon, three years after the war began.
Organizers said 300,000 people marched, although a police spokesman declined to give an estimate. There were no reports of arrests.
''We are here today because the war is illegal, immoral and unethical,'' said the Rev. Al Sharpton. ''We must bring the troops home.'' 'They're going to lie to us again'
Organizers said the march was also meant to oppose military action against Iran, which is facing criticism over its nuclear program. The event was organized by the group United for Peace and Justice.

Every arrogant ruler has a set of delusions, sometimes religious, to justify wars and other criminal behaviour.
Bush is no exception as indicated in our section on "Dangers Of Christian Fundamentalism". Bush believes he is chosen by God to do this work. Who cares about public criticism when you have God on your side and whispering in your ear? Bush and millions of unthinking loyal supporters believe this rubbish. Millions of other Americans fear to oppose it, other's don't care or are too busy, so the Bush war machine rolls on toward a nuclear Armageddon. Even the Democratic Party goes along and repeats Bush lies. Hillary Clinton accepts Bush lies, and never attempts to expose them. That's why she remains the leading Democratic contender for President.
The system is very, very, blindly corrupt and heading for self-destruction. The trouble is that the American Sampson will pull the whole temple down in a nuclear cataclysm that may destroy the world.

The president doesn't care that he is reviled. He is a martyr, and someday all will see his glory.

President Chavez is a real hero to his own people and other South Americans for using his oil revenues to improve services to his people.
Traditionally the U.S. has always backed reactionary dictatorships in South America and used the CIA to overthrow governments which tried to take an independent position - such as Allende in Chile. It still regards Castro in Cuba as an

.....The reasons for wars in which resources are a factor, are usually camouflaged by a screen of propaganda. In the U.S. case it is the blanket phoney justification "war on terrorism" . This covers U.S. global domination plans, the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and the coming war with Iran, currently justified under the "wars on global terrorism" blanket. The real reasons include the theft of other people's oil resources.. The objective is to control middle east oil, prices and access to oil by competitors of the U.S. Rising oil prices is only the beginning.

It's official: the era of resource wars is upon us. In a major London address, British Defense Secretary John Reid warned that global climate change and dwindling natural resources are combining to increase the likelihood of violent conflict over land, water and energy. Climate change, he indicated, "will make scarce resources, clean water, viable agricultural land even scarcer" -- and this will "make the emergence of violent conflict more rather than less likely."
